Hot stone massage

This involves the application of heated volcanic stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth - ideal for those who tend to be chilly!

The warm stones expand the blood vessels, pushing blood and unwanted waste materials through the body. This has a sedative effect on the nervous system. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage, leaving you feeling relaxed but energised.

Bamboo massage

Bamboo massage incorporates warmed bamboo stalks of different lengths and diameters to provide deep-tissue work. The massage promotes circulation, sensory nerve perception, and lymphatic drainage, as well as providing a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.

A soothing massage which is also excellent for those wanting deep tissue, prefect for those who take part in sport and experience long standing pain and tension.

indian head massage

Based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years, this massage releases tensions and stress in the shoulders, neck, head and scalp. Using various techniques to relieve deep seated tension including kneading and gentle stroking movements, this is an excellent treatment for those suffering from tension headaches, sinus trouble, tension headaches and insomnia. 60 minutes - £45.

Cupping therapy

An ancient technique that stretches tight fascia, muscles, & stimulates tissue healing, great for athletes and those with long standing deep tensions. It works synergistically with massage, creating a dynamic and effective treatment. Cupping increases blood flow to the skin creating a mild immune response and increasing anti-inflammatory chemicals in the body. It draws stagnant blood to the surface and improves blood circulation to the tissues. Cupping also softens muscle tissue and helps to relieve muscle knots which results in looser feeling, more flexible muscles. Due to the increased circulation in localised areas, sometimes where the muscle has been very tight, bruise-like marks can occur, disappearing after a couple of days. Integrated with manual massage

myofascial release

MFR does not use oils or lotions, it is performed mainly dry so that the practitioner avoids glide over the skin but can feel deeper into the tissue. MFR cultivates a sense of touch so that each and every treatment is uniquely delivered with skilled ‘listening’ hands, this allows a releasing of holding patterns within the connective tissue or fascia of the body.

For those with chronic pain, long standing pain and poor posture, and a sensitivity to mainstream sports massage, this is a very effective and relaxing treatment.
